Yes, it is a nightmare
When i have a brick wall, it's a really thick wall
I saw the new thread you started, maybe some fresh eyes will help. I'm thinking the shoemaker thing might help. Thank you for all your work on this!

Sobey Dunn- christening: 25 Dec 1803 SAINT THOMAS,"‹DUDLEY,"‹WORCESTER,- parents: John Dunn,"‹ Sarah
1841 Upper Netherton, Dudley
John Dunn 70 lab
Sarah Dunn 70
William Dunn 35
Sarah Dunn 25

Ok, just to be clear you are talking about the death certs for this john and sarah correct?

Yes it may or may not help
RF found this
30 Jul 1843 St Andrew Netherton Sarah DUNN Netherton Died 23 Jul 1843 Age 66yrs
and there is this at Dudley
1843
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
DUNN Sarah Dudley (DUD) Dudley Register Office DUD/009/325
Then for John there is this but we dont know the age so would need to say you only want it if age is within a certain age
there are 2 possibles
1849
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
DUNN John Dudley (DUD) Dudley Register Office DUD/020/458
and
1847
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
DUNN John Dudley (DUD) Dudley Register Office DUD/017/406
if you apply online at dudley regis office dont put the ref no in as they may be incorrect
give them wide parameters
John is 70 on 1841 ....I would ask for 65-80
and that Sarah same
say living Netherton perhaps upper netherton
I think the sarah one will be the one above
you never know sometimes the informant is such a help but then it may be no help
you don't have to order anything of course

I've ordered the John and Sarah Dunn death certs from Dudley and I also ordered Sophia Barnsley's death from the GRO (her death was listed as Stafford, Staffordshire).
We found two possible christenings for Sophia:
Sobey Dunn, 25 Dec 1803, John & Sarah, Saint Thomas Dudley
Sophia Dunn, 29 Aug 1802, Thomas & Mary, Brierly Hill
Would there be birth certs registered with Dudley for these? Worth ordering?

no they are archives look ups only no certifs before 1837
we have looked at these in transcripts and no more info
but if you go to Look up requests you can pop a post on under Dudley look ups and get them checked at dudley archives
someone might be going in the new year....I dont think there will be more info

you only get occup and abode of parent after 1812

I took a look at this site, but it wasn't clear how I could use the site. I know that Jesse died in Wednesbury, West Bromwich, but I don't know where he was buried. Could the folks in Sandwell look that up for me?

Might be worth writing to Smethwick archives asking them which would be nearest church or cemetary
I think they charge for look ups by the hour
you would need to ask them.
But they should be able to give you the nearest church
so many churches he could be buried in a church or cemetary.
Ask Smethwick archives what they advise or maybe someone on here will know
I dont know the area
anyone else any advice for BG pls
