Ann's place of birth is listed as Wincle in some census and Wildboardclough in others.
They are about 3 miles apart but both in the registration district of Macclesfield.
Her year of birth varies between 1854 and 1857 in census, marriage and death records.
There is only one birth record in Macclesfield that remotely matches.

Re: Sniddles Head Farm, Quarnford, Staffs
This is going to confuse you terribly.......
Here is the marriage of your Great Great Grandparents......and the surnames should sound familiar.....
Civil Registration event: Marriage
Name: WARRINGTON, Phillip
Registration District: Leek
County: Staffordshire
Year of Registration: 1854
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Spouse's last name: Not available before 1912
Volume No: 6B
Page No: 347
MarriageFinder: Phillip Warrington married one of the following people
WARREN, Mary Ann
BIRCHENELL, Caroline
GOODWIN, Daniel
So......what we have to do is figure out the connection between the Birchenell, Nadin/Naden and Warrington families....

Re: Sniddles Head Farm, Quarnford, Staffs
Trouble with Birchenall is that is can be spelt Birchenell and, quite often, Birchenough. (There is a Joseph Birchenough living on Sniddles Farm in 1851).
That makes these possible birth entries for Ann.
Civil Registration event: Birth
Name: BIRCHENOUGH, Ann
Registration District: Macclesfield
County: Cheshire
Year of Registration: 1854
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Mother's Maiden Name: Not available before 1911 Q3

Name: BIRCHENOUGH, Annie
Registration District: Macclesfield
County: Cheshire
Year of Registration: 1854
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Mother's Maiden Name: Not available before 1911 Q3
Volume No: 8A
Page No: 111
Annie I would dismiss as she is with her mother Maria in the 1871 census.

Re: Sniddles Head Farm, Quarnford, Staffs
Thankyou. I think that Ann's birth is going to prove very difficult. There are too many of them. I give up!
Looking at the 1881 census...Philip & Caroline are both Warrington and Philip's mother (Mary aged 77) is also Warrington. His father was John Nadin/Naden so perhaps she was Warrington?? I can't think of any other connection.
Also, if Caroline was Birchenall, could Eliza aged 70 in 1881 be her mother do you think?
It's all very confusing. I've been studying it for ages and can't seem to get anywhere. Thanks for linking the Birchenalls to the family though
