OK Hope - we now need to find her marriage to some called Bolstridge
Using FreeBMD put in the Surname Cresswell (this was her name before she married her third Husband) - First Name is Maud - then type in Bolstridge in the Spouse's Surname. You might not need to use the dates. Let us know what you get

Brilliant - so now we can look for them on the 1911 Census and that will tell us where she was born.
The census is the same thing that we fill in every 10 years. It is covered by a 100 year privacy law, so no-one can look at it until it is 100 years old. The 1911 was released 2 years early, but with bits of sensitive information left off. The census records are on Ancestry or Find My Past, so I'm afraid you can't see them for free - but we'll help here.
If you look at the page number on that marriage you found, you will see the name of her husband is Luke Cresswell, so they will probably be living together in 1911.
What we need to do next is to find her first marriage. So if you enter in the name of Maud Maddox and in the Spouse's surname box, type Bolstridge - let me know what you get there.

Sorry Hope - I asked you to look for the wrong marriage
We are looking for a marriage of Maud Maddox to .....? Cresswell - sometime before 1910 when she married Luke. When you find it, can you highlight it and post it like you just did with the other one - Well Done !

Hello Hope
I have added a bit more to the tree now. What we really need for this branch of the family is the marriage certificate for Samuel and Elizabeth. Unfortunately, it took place at the Register Office, so it will cost £9.50. Let me know if you want to send for it and I'll tell you how.

Luke Bolstridge is an unusual name - so you could try searching for his birth and death on FreeBMD. Let me know what you find and we will add the information.

Bit difficult as they have both passed away Dad passed away 60 years ago. So can i vouch for her lol bless x

I have tried various spellings Maggie and have not had any success -- if you have found Luke it might help if you give Hope(and me) some idea of what you entered in the search boxes so we can replicate it
It would be unfortunate for Hope if her first foray proved to be a brick wall!

Sorry - been out to pick the kids up. I actually didn't look for him until now - and can't find him at all. I can find other Bolstridge's but not Luke. Maybe it was a second name. I have found him in 1901 with his whole family, but I didn't want to post this yet, as it may confuse Hope even more. So Hope - we'll give him a miss for a bit - do you want to look for Maud now you know when and where she was born.

I think I know why we can't find Luke Bolstridge - He is with parents Samuel and Clara in 1891. In 1881, Samuel is with his wife Selina and two children. There is a marriage for Samuel Bolstridge and Clara Cherry in 1883 in Aston and there is a birth for Luke Cherry in 1881. Ignore this for the moment Hope - don't want you to get sidetracked - we'll keep it for later.
