That's all wonderful information you have found, thankyou Peter, Cid and Maths Girl. Peter I have ordered John Robinson's Marriage Certificate, I have the tree from him downwards, it's his parents that are the problem. I do now think that Catherine Espie Married Patrick Welsh, and that John, Peter, James and Mary should be Welsh not Robinson. I see that Patrick Welsh's father could be Peter, and he has a son Peter, so that would fit well. Then it looks like Catherine/Kate up sticks and moves in with William Robinson, there is no Marriage for a Catherine Welch and a William Robinson, so then it's a case of working out which of the children belong to which father. I have also sent for the birth certificate of Peter Welch and will send for the Marriage of Catherine Espie and Patrick Welch, should receive next week, will post the results on here thankyou all for your help regards aviator.

Have some further information from a couple of certificates. Peter Welsh born 7th Jan 1887 address was Hardman Street Linthorpe Middlesbrough. Father was Patrick Welsh General Labourer, Mother Catherine Welsh formerly Espie. I am now sure that Catherine Espie/Welsh/Robinson is the same lady. She had four children with Patrick Welsh then moved in with William Robinson, where there surnames all became Robinson.

Also received Marriage Certificate for Patrick Welsh and Catherine Espie looks like Espic on the Certificate. They Married 1st May 1883 St Mary's Cathedral Middlesbrough, by the Rites and Commitments of the Roman Catholic Church. Patrick was a bachelor 22 a Labourer address Hardman Street Linthorpe father Peter Welsh a Labourer. Catherine was a spinster aged 18
address Hartington Street Linthorpe father James Espie a Labourer. The witnesses are not much help a Edward Mc Gowan and a Margaret Ellen Wright.

The remaining brick walls are the father's. On the Census Catherine's father is a Samuel and Patrick's is a Patrick. Can anyone find them before the Marriage in 1883 please. Thankyou for reading this from aviator.
