Saw Gene at the Hippodrome, Dudley with the Walker Brothers on the same bill, thought I'd died and gone to heaven. swooooon.

Oh Barb - Hippodrome days eh - saw Cliff there but I think he was called the Drifters then, before he became completely famous.. Anyway - my friends cousin played in the group and we had coffee with them after in ?? What was that coffee bar opposite the Hippodrome called :?:

Are you changing your frock :?

Bellfields used to be opposite. Or, next door to the Hippodrome there's a ramp leading onto a car park and as you walk down that ramp on the right hand side there used to be the Mirrorbar?? which later became a roller rink. It's where that electrical place is now. I don't remember any other coffee bars apart from Wimpeys? on the High Street.

Went and washed me frock and it's shrunk!! Should have had it dry cleaned but couldn't afford it.

That's it - Bellfields. Used to go to the roller skating rink every Saturday and the dances there on a Saturday night. That's where I learned to Rock 'n Roll.
There's no place like home ......
