Are these some of the children,

Births Dec 1914.
BURGESS Kathleen F. Mother Simpkin. Birmingham. 6d. 415.

Births Dec 1917.
Burgess Doris. Mother, Simpkins. Birmingham 6d 316

Births Sep 1919.
Burgess Esme O. Mother Simpkin. Birmingham. 6d. 359.

Being in the army would explain the gap between births.

Hi again

Sorry you'll have to excuse my ignorance re the Electoral Roll, I'm so used to looking at censuses. That explains the lack of children then. He could have been at war but the man you have Jimmy is too young to be my Alf because mine was born 1879/1880. He could have been from the Birmingham Burgesses, because there was only the one family there for generations but if he was he was probably quite distant by 1918. The children were definitely part of the family, Esme O, who was called Tess by everyone (don't know why), Kathleen died in infancy I think and I had a feeling there might have been a Doris but wasn't sure.

Thanks to all of you for your help I really appreciate it.

:P

There are no Census available for 1920 and 1930 for another 10 and 20 years, we can only access up to 1911 at the moment.
