There's this will on probate calender:
Valentine George Burbridge of 6 Calbourn Road Balham Surrey died 23 June 1921 Probate London 26 August to Maria Valentine Widow. Effects £271 18s.
That matches up with the 1851 census, but wife doesn't match 1901 census!

Re: My great-grandmother Selina Valentine
Just wondering whether Charles was a smoke screen for this Sidney -- father wealthy enough to buy her to give false info on birth certificate -- She couldn't have named the father on the certificate if she wasn't married to him unless he was there -- but ..

Re: My great-grandmother Selina Valentine
Thanks to you all for the prompt response to my post. I forgot to say that I have been researching my family tree with ancestry and recorded quite a lot of the census information you have so kindly looked up for me. However, I will sift through it all to make sure there is nothing I have missed. Selina was born Valentine and remained so until her death. She was one of 11 children and her parents, James and Mary both died young, at least by today's standards. He was 59 she was 48. Selina had lived with relations from the age of 11 months.
I do not know anything about the father, Charles, except that it was he who registered my grandfather's birth in St George, Hanover Square. I suspect he may have already been married as their is a marriage registration for a Charles Valentine/Ann Ford in the same area in 1867
