I'm swamped by Basterfields!!!

I got so confused that I started a new tree on my family history software, and just put every BC Basterfield I could find on there hoping to get some matches ... Big Mistake!!! Now I'm even more confused. I'm hoping it will all gradually sift out and make sense soon. :shock:
