Most people go astray when they take the census transcrption as true.

For instance you may have Martha Smith, head of household.
John Jones, son in law.
Mary Jones, daughter.

People alread have the Mary Smith as a Daughter of Martha but due to the way Ancestry works, they may accept John Jones and Mary Jones as chidlren of "unknown" and Martha.

There are plenty of other census "gothas" that they simply do not think about.

It's verifying the information I find the most difficult because I just haven't got the time or money to do it.

I have found 1 descendant of my 2 or 3x great grandfather and we've verified it together. She contacted me through ancestry.

I made a start on editing my tree last night to make clear whether I've verified any info. Once I've worked my way through them all, I'll get around to verifying my ancestors.. I hope!
