Not quite sure how it works, but if you have more than one kindle registered to the same user (ie husbands or kids) then you can have the same book on two (or more) kindles at the same time!

The source that I've been using for free eBooks is "The Book Repository". It has 18,485 of them! I've gone back to my childhood and am rereading 'Anne of Green Gables'.
Oh, and I'm writing this on my iPad ... And it has all my Tai chi videos on it ... And all my favourite music ... And it can work as a Sat Nav ... And I can Skype , and use the Internet ... AND read in bed with the lights out! I'm in heaven!

Does it have the Laura Ingalls books? Can you post a link, I can only find "The Book Depository"!

I believe John Lewis is the only store that sells Kindles - price the same as Amazon. Of course if you have a JL near
you would be able to get a demo and advice from the sales staff. My daughter went down to Southampton to
investigate and found them very helpful.

That sounds like a great idea! I'd recomend getting a cover for it too, as then your expensive e-book is protected!

I think the Little House on the Prairie books will still be in copyright?
This site is good for free ebooks
http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_PageMy daughter got a Kindle for Christmas - a 3G one which allows direct downloading. She accidentally downloaded a book which she was reading in hardcopy, said she thought she could download the first chapter for free, but bought it all by mistake
Kindle is now available at Heathrow and some other airports, so if I get one I will aim to get it dutyfree some time. Meanwhile I am getting to grips with my new ipod and listening to Melvyn Bragg's In Our Time series - not that I understand much of it! Fun to listen to experts getting excited about the cause of the Industrial revolution! There are some free audiobooks on line too but seem to be read by Americans with terrible (sorry) drawls. I mean, What Ho Jeeves! in American? I deleted it
