I found John Grainger 1771 and Sarah Hartland Parents of Issac 1773 who Married Sarah Lilley born 1774. Their children were John 1801, William 1803, Mary 1805, Issac 1807, Richard 1809, Daniel 1813, Hannah 1817 and James 1819. All Dudley, do you think this is the right family NL? Best Wishes from linell.

Also found on Ancestry Daniel Grainger 1813 Married Mary Shakespear born 1815, her parents were Edward Shakespear and Mary Boxley, so it looks as though your hunch was correct NL.

I will post the Grainger Lilley as a seperate topic to save confusing everyone....
But thanks Linell for info there is deffo a connection.
So SS that looks a good idea re Benjamin snr and the death certif
has anyone looked to see any likely ones betw 1841 -1851?
We need to slot Ben snr in somehow.
How are we going to find which one your Ben jnr links to SS....any ideas anyone?
I think it has to be Edward and Mary Boxley
but only cos of this Lilley association.
And the bapt age fits doesnt it?
We need to eliminate this Benj snr as a father.....frustrating cos of that witness Sarah his dau at Benj jnrs wedding.
aggghhhh!

Ok I have entered it on connections here....
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =929364759Please let me know of any mistakes as it would be great to get all this Shakespear stuff on and correct!
I think we need that death certif for Benjamin.
and can we slot him into that tree Di found?
I will look up that burial Pete found (for a son) but don't think it will tell us much more...but will look.
The death certif may just have Benj as the informant...

Just thinking wonder if the death certif for Edward Shakespear ( hubby of Mary boxley) may have a Benjamin as informant on?
As that would then sort it out from another angle....bit of a gamble though on either death certifs having a Benj on...

Wonder when he died probably pre 1837 as nothing coming up for an Edward.
Is he on the census at all?

Thanks for all your work folks. I have been inclined towards Edward and Mary as parents too, just that witness Sarah who upset the apple cart. Think he died early. Can't find my census with widow Mary on. Her age fitted and she was a charwoman at Dudley. Now where is the census form?
That angelfire website is my contact from about 7years ago. NL you know who? clue: S.P.
