The ages are all over the place George should have been closer to 60 than 50. He shows up as 71 in 1911.

So are you saying my Grandfather James Harvey was actually born as James Dearn the illigitimate son of Clara Dearn/Parkes. Then when Clara married George in 1880 his name changed to Harvey ?? If true then this is as far back as I can follow the Harvey name as George the blacksmith is not my biological Great grandfather.

I have emailed the regis office re the James Harvey ones in 1871 Oldbury
and the 1872 one above...but this now looks not like one for us....
not heard back yet
really need to explore the births for a James Harvey or Parkes
he may or may not be the son of Clara Dearn or Clara Parkes
We know that George married Clara Parkes
one of the kids births should give you her name she may be down as Parkes or Dearn on it
this is only what I think you have to decide what you think
and unfortunately it may involve buying some certifs

We still have the Tromans thread open for James Harvey b abt 1871/2
so think we close this Clara one off now and run with James Harvey on that one
will change title of it too.
Have added in as footnote that death for a James Dearn
so this may be another Clara with a mother who marries a John Parkes
the age on our Clara that marries George Harvey doesnt match this 1855 one
Clara that marries George is b abt 1848
going to lock this one now but leave it here for ref to a Clara Dearn
anything to do with James Harvey now pls use the other thread
entitled James Harvey query /Tromans
