Luckily people have woken up to the fact that seat belts save lives - yeh you might break a few ribs if you have an accident while wearing one, but it's got to be better than being dead!
Back seat passengers (or dogs or other large items) can break the necks of front seat passengers if not properly belted in /secured.

The American's amuse me with their refusal to accept compulsory seatbelts.

It is their God Given Right to fly through the windscreen or smash their head against the dashboard.

Darwin's survival of the fittest at work :lol:

Motorycle helmets ar even optional in some states :shock:

I've never understood why some people have to unbuckle their seatbelt the second the fasten seatbelt light goes out on planes - now you' ve explained that mystery for me. :P

In Denmark, you see lots of scouter riders using their helmet to protect their elbow, presumably because that's where their intelligence sits! (That they get away with it show's that the police presence is not what it could be).
