Hi Carole, yes those families, Coley, Darby, Smith, Tolly, and Allen seem to have lived in the Illey area for generations, it's was a lovely rural Hamlet with a Water Mill, don't know what it is like today, not been there for years.

Can anyone find Wm and Phoebe Layton in 1841/1851, so we can see where they lived and who by?

Pete I have a death cert for Wm Worton 1844 - does record who was 'Present at Death.'

We seem to have a few John Hadley's, he could have Married again if Ann died young?

Will see what the Census returns throw up for Wm and Phoebe?

I looked up the Baptism for Noah Hadley here:-

1841. Illy.
William Hadley 75. Nailer.
Looks like same house.
John Hadley 50. Nailer.
John Hadley 8.
[b]Noah Hadley 4.[/b
Fredrick Hadley 15.
Ann Hadley 45.
Ann Hadley 17.
Sarah Hadley 12.

It says 18.9.1836 Noah son of John and Ann Hadley Illey Nailer.

Doesn't help much.

if submitted do the transcripts go up to this date and can someone verify it pls

Thanks very much for the Census info Jimmy. It does look as though Phoebe Hadley is also Illey born and bread Anyone find Phoebe later on with In Laws in the Household Sorry I can't look these up, have no subscription anymore.

Sch 58 Mary Ingram W 59 Halesowen

Sch 69 Wm and Phoebe Laton.

No inlaws or parents on 51,61,71, or 81 census either.

Would it give the mothers maiden name on a christening.

No mothers name on a christening
unless the vicar has decided to add something in notes
but I rarely see that...
