Thank you again for your help.

I also have details of the family from 1861, 1851 and 1841 but I must call it a day now. I will put those details up tomorrow.

So, here is the family in 1841:

Dark Lane, Sedgley, Wolverhampton , Staffs.,
Edward Foley (age 20), Labourer
Rebecca Foley (age 20) NB - one of these ages is incorrect, Edward is 6 years older than Rebecca, nee Reeves, born 1821
Mary Ann Foley (age 3)
Maria Foley (age 9 months)

I thought I had them in 1851 but having just gone to my records it appears I don't after all. Will get back to you.

In June 1851 when Kezia is born the family appears to be living in 'Deepfield Square' , Coseley, Sedgley.

But I can't find them in 1851 either They must be there somewhere though!

I spent several hours on this last night and anoyjer hour now.

All I can think of is that there has been a serious transcription error.

The family is good at registering births and deaths Rebecca would have been mid yo late pregnancy with Kezia at the time of the census. There would be no reason for them not to have been recorded.

I have tried what I think might be the most obvious errors - perhaps it's time to be a bit more creative. I just don't know how at the moment!

Many thanks everyone for looking.

Well - I'm still struggling with this.

Is it possible to search the 1851 census by location. We know where they are resident in June of that year?

Yes it is Coseley appears to be around enumeration district 24/25 (maybe a few before and a few after) in the district of Sedgeley in 1851.
Too tired and internet connection is too iffy to let me look all through for you tonight.

Thank you - I've just gone through the enumeration districys (learned something new again tonight - thank you!)

Enumeration districts 24 - 34 inclusive cover Coseley. Just got to track down 'Deepfields Square' now.

On modern maps, there is no actual place 'Deepfields Square', merely an area called 'Deepfields'. I do hope that's not another obstacle.
