How good is that?
On my family Tree I have a note - Eliza owned a pub at Whiteheathgate called 'The Vine' after her marriage to Henry Whitehouse

Eliza's mother was Deborah Taylor b1802 R/R, she died in 1858 - the same year that Eliza married
I also have Henry Whitehouse's parents as William and Anne Taylor (I need to double check this) if correct, I wonder if they were related?

Great stuff..thank you all
If you would like to have your ancestors photo's included in our Gallery, please send me a pm.

I am just a bit worried about William being a Bricklayer in 41 and 51 could do with this family on later census up until son Henry gets married.....Mally when did his parents have the pub?
Was it on the marr certi?
I have put it down as a look up to see what father William did and the witnesses

wot do you guys think could it be the same family - ie the same Henry!

I dont have the marriage cert for Henry & Eliza but the following info was passed on to me from Mark (Aust)

Edward Dyas (correspondence) ancestor, Eliza Evans had married into the Whitehouse family, who were also Black Country publicans.
They owned the Vine at Whiteheath Gate and the Bush at Coombeswood, as well as another pub in Tipton.

If you could do that look up NL, I'd really appreciate it

Ta chuck

I deffo think that we have 2 Henry Whitehouses here with fathers William...or.....

at least the Henry Whitehouse who married Eliza Evans his father is a nailer not a publican.

On the 1861 census Black heath Rowley regis
William Whitehouse h m 60 nailer Tipton
Ann Whitehouse w 49 dressmaker Rowley
Mary dau 19
Sarah dau 16
Eliza dau 14

so this is the same lot as on Connections in 1851 he was a Bricklayer there...so he could change to publican later on suppose but need to see wot the father of that henry is in 1858 marriage

Ok bringing this back to discuss it cos we need some census look ups from 1861 please guys....

So we had 2 Henry Whitehouses it turns out that we only need one of them the other is redundant! :(

Henry Whitehouse son of William Whitehouse the brick layer - married Eliza Evans dau of Joseph Evans a rivet maker in 1861.

So we need to find out if both Joseph EVans and William Whitehouse become publicans later on which would then tie in with info Mally rec'd from a researcher....so here is the link...

and off we go guys..
