I think it matches that one in Ryhl High Street in that photo

then it would be three as the military monument is in its own garden and nothing like an arch ?

where was your mother stationed at any way of finding out ?


I noticed that it seemed to be away from shops on the postcard and the Francis Frith but they are both from considerably before WW2 and it is possible that other shops had been built by then.

I agree with peterd, a modern birds-eye view of Rhyll shows the monument at the end of High Street at the junction with the promenade and not likely to have been flanked by shops. The monumnet also does not look big enough to incorporate an arch..

Still trying to find out where she was stationed but not having much success. However, North Wales / Cheshire seems likely from a few remembered comments. As I said there are photos of friends and colleagues on the beach at Prestatyn.
