The Agnes Tromans and Thomas Smith marriage was the correct one as the other one ie Agnes Tromans and John Bannister she had a father of Joseph not Henry...info here but no look up as it it Sandwell....

So Laura's father was William Payne. BUT Laura may not have been the mother of Annie Adams. It looks as if Laura could have been Samuel's 2nd wife and his 1st wife, Sarah, was Annie's mum. See below ... Unless the enumerator got Laura's name wrong in 1861.
