Sorry NL if Ive confused you. :)

Doug!

Can you confirm this is the right one?

1861 Census
New Town, Rowley Regis
Joseph Dimmick, head, 31, Chain Maker, Dudley Wood
Elizabeth, wife, 28,
William, son, 8,
Mary Ann, daur, 6
Joseph, son, 4
All others born Rowley

If it is then the families next door to each other are, on the 1861 Census,
The house previous
Phebe Woodall, head, W, 63, chain maker
Caroline, daur, 21
All born Rowley

Previous page has,
Alexander Woodhall, head, 21, chain maker
Ellen, wife, 21, chain maker
William, son,
Alexander, son, 3 months
All born Rowley

Then the families match 1851 and 1841 with a possible few connections to each other!
Jo :)

As Transcibed by Roger Boswell --Except William Dimock was not deceased and Wit was Mary Ann Mole

Got the info from this site:

http://uk-transcriptions.accessgenealog ... Dudley.htm

Definitely shows William as deceased.

Hi

Joseph & William appear to have a possible sibling in Louisa, who's living with them at the home of their grandparents [Samuel & Mary Yardley] in 1841 - this info is in the notes for Joseph. Haven't been able to confirm her parentage as yet - doesn't seem to be on the IGI - can't find her in 1851 - possible death in 1854 on freeBMD.

Doug

PS In regard to william I believe he was christened twice - the one at Particular Baptist [where all his grandparents kids were christened - the other:

20 MAR 1831 Wesleyan Chapel, Dudley, Worcester, England - C052071 [extracted] - parents William & Diana

I'd say the grandparents were fairly staunch Baptists!

Jo can you sort this one and connect up if you think it is the same one?

I do think this is Elizabeth. She is living nextdoor to Phebe when she was married, New Town is the address back to 1841 census and Father, Joseph.
I'll go back through and check too.
Jo :)

Pudsey to Howard wrote:Hi

In regard to Elizabeth Unknown married to Joseph Dimmock born abt 1829 on BCC

I've found the following marriage:

1852 DIMOCK Joseph WOODALL Elizabeth Dudley, St Thomas Dudley Register Office 204/012/54

Which links to:

1852 Joseph Dimock F B Chain Maker Dudley William Dimock (Dec) Miner
26 Sep Elizabeth Woodall F S Dudley Joseph Woodall (Dec) Chain Maker
Witness John Homer, Mary Ann

Elizabeth was born at either Rowley Regis or Cradley Heath somewhere between 1831 and 1833 [it varies on different census records post her marriage to Joseph].

Quite right about dec it`s a bit messy the layout of the transcribing!Still we have to be gratefull to Roger for taking the time

Looking Closely on the 1861 census it looks like Joseph Dimmock is actually living in the same house as Phebe. There is no entry in the Houses boxes for his name all other entries have.
Also I have only added Unknown for the male on the 1841 census for now, I have a feeling that this may be Israel Bradney Woodhall, he was married in 1844. I'll see if I can find a bit more out.

The 1871 census Shows Phebe and Caroline in the same household as Joseph Dimmock, shall I add them to the census info on BCC, they are not on it.
