We recycle. We have a green wheely bin for rubbish that gets empied once a week.Once a fortnightwe have collections for. A blue box to put bottles and tins in. A small bag for newspapers. A large white bag for cardboard and plastic. All have to be clean and washed out. Clear plastic bags for garden waste in the summer. We also have a compost bin.
So in the summer months we have 4 bin waggons going round... :?
I give decent old things to charity bags that come to the door or take old shoes and clothes to the recycle bins.
Give friends and their children "hand me downs" something I always looked forward to, even just recent!
I still try and use what I can.
The kids think its funny me sewing things back up :? They say how much did that cost? So why spend all that time doing it? I still save material that I think may come in useful...
I used to take buttons off things and zips and save them. Old trousers cut the bottom half off and have as shorts. The girls used to wear my jumper or sweatshirt, cut in two, turned upside down and hemmed as skirts
The sleep suits when they were babes, I'd cut the feet out so they lasted longer.
Oh I could go on...
Are you all asleep now?

 Thats something along the lines the kids say!

Waste not want not!

They used to say too, can we have shot in the pan for tea!
They thought it was a good dish ... but it was just what I had left in the cupboards thrown together with some, pasta, spices and herbs!
