Went looking for a Mary Marsh marrying a Smart prior to 1870, but couldn't see one.

The 1861 census I have been running with for Marsh is below

at Bell Street Alley, Tipton

Ann ( nee Watson ) 28 Dudley

Mary 9 Sedgley born 1852
Elizabeth 7 Sedgley
William 6 Sedgley
Ann 4 Sedgley
Eliza J 2 Sedgley
Amelia 2 months Tipton

William Marsh married Ann Watson 1851 Dudley

The biggest problem I have is there is a number of Mary Marsh born in Sedgley sub district as listed below
Mary 1851 SEG/034/50
Mary 1851 SEG/035/295
Mary 1852 SEG/036/256
Mary 1852 SEG/037/348
Mary 1853 SEG/039/31

Then to add to the puzzle there are a number of Mary Smarts born in Dudley as listed below
Mary 1851 DUD/042/85
Mary 1851 DUD/043/259
Mary 1850 DUD/040/411

still trying to establish if Thomas Fielding's wife was Mary Marsh or Mary Smart.

The only marriage record I can find, and have a copy of is for Mary Smart. This must be the correct one as the two witness's were
Sarah Chater ( nee Fielding --Thomas's sister )
Joseph Chater ( Sarah's husband )

Have copies of two of Thomas and Mary's children's birth certificates and both say the mother was Mary Marsh. Details below :-
John Thomas Fielding born 1886 Sedgley
Arthur Fielding born 1896 Castleford ( not added to BCC yet )

Would love to solve the puzzle but will leave it to you whether to move to Brick Walls section or not.

Are these Fieldings the same Fieldings that are related to Martha Fielding b 1886 d 1917 married to Isaac Southall?
If so how are they connected?

was Mary a Mary Marsh but parents a Smart
so she was born before marriage
who was her father etc on marriage

my Issac Southall b abt 1887/1886 is the one who married Martha Fielding b 1886 d 1917(Suicide) daughter of Henry Fielding b 1842 d 1901, and is on the BCC site.
