I buy big fat parsnips with thick ends. I peel them and then slice them in half, lengths ways. I pour boiling water on them and stick them in the microwave for 10 mins full power.
The vegatable oil I heat in the oven first. Then I drain the parsnips and add to the hot fat. I turn them over in it and cook with the cut side up to start with for about 20-30 mins, then turn them over and cook for about the same again. They are lovely and crisp outside and soft and sweet inside.

I dont roast with olive oil.
Jo :)

Yeah right!!

Listen i've just cooked Nasi Goreng for 6 people!!
And here's my recipe.....
Ingredients:
*400 gram cooked rice (dry)
*400 gram unsalted pork
*100 gram bacon (cut finely)
*1 onion, 2 eggs, 1 leek, 2 Tbsp. oil

Preparation:
1. Cook the rice.
2. Boil the ingredients in the packet in 100 ml boiling water (10 min.)
3. Fry the bacon in the oil.
4. Add the cubed meat and fry until brown.
5. Add the chopped onion.
6. Add the mix of the Nasi Goreng.
7. Add the eggs and stir completely into small pieces.
8. Add the cut leek and fry for 2 min. together.
9. Add finally the cooled rice perferably, and stir completely until warm.

Serving Suggestions:

*Add sambal and ketjap to taste.
*Serve the Nasi goreng with fried egg and a portion sate.
*Add atjar and kroepoek.
