It's a shame it doesn't say where in England. Free BMD is only finding the 1854 Dudley Jethro, it must have transcribed the others. I wonder if Lizzie is Mary E who appears on the Census hints I have.

There was only 2 Jethro Billingham's born 1 in 1854 and 1 in 1874.

The Jethro I am looking at is definitely 1854. I don't know where the Jethro born March 1855 fits in.

The 1855 is the same as the 1854, you will have to learn a couple of years either way means nothing.

Jethro Jethro B and Jethie are all the same Person.

The way I see it is that Jethro was Born to Benjamin and Charlotte, he emigrated in 1873 Married Sarah in 1875 divorced in 1879 Married Harriet in 1880 , Harriet must have died and he married Lizzie Walker in 1902 and died in 1939

The birth year on this should be 1854 not 1855.

And the naturalization certificate has, I think, the right day and month for arrival, but ten years out on the year! But why claim to be born at sea? Must have had an odd sense of humour!

I too don't understand being born at sea and the date change. Also on the marriage information. Also on the Ohio marriage records definitely for the one to Lizzie he gives his mother's name as Catherine not Charlotte but still Hall.

To confuse things even more he is on the 1900 Census twice once lodging with Lizzie Walker and living with Harriet but listed as William

He either made a few things up or he didn't know the truth.I still think it is all the same person.

Yes thanks, it's fine to archive. I think he must have been the black sheep of the family constantly changing dates and names to say nothing of his place of birth.
I did notice when I was looking it up that Slackhillock is actually currently spelt as two separate words - Slack Hillock - it's a very strange place name.
