Of course there is no "must be" about this. It is also possible that Jane had a daughter with an unknown person, and the kid could have any surname in the world, and then married a Flavell. Shame we don't have a first name.
I tried looking at all B Flavell births in the time period, in case she was unmarried still in 1931, and they all seem to be Beatrice or Bertha, with a Betsy or two. But I did not find any with mother Severns.

Oh no not another mystery on this woman.

So Jane Severns may have had a dau ...that address in 1931 for B. Flavell as the informant
is there any way of tracing that one?

Would phone books on ancestry help?

Everything I've looked at has Elizabeth Hall living at 2 Canal Side. The only Flavell was Kate Flavell

So in 1930 (Elec regis) and 1939 (census) an Elizabeth Hall was at 2 Canal side.
but she is born 1869 so not dau of Jane Severns.

Could K Flavell be B Flavell.

It is deffo a B as Barn road is the same writing as is Breedon Cross
so whoever filled it in did the B the same way.

When she died here address was Jane CURNOCK - 74- Female- 7 Lifford Cottages Kings Norton B'ham

Lifford Cottages were on Lifford Lane, and there is this in the 1939 register

Major Flavell b.1858 2 Lifford Lane, Kings Norton 30, Birmingham (living with married daughter and son in law I think (Robert and Emma (Flavell) Witherford

Is that the father of the Major Flavell that Jimmy found? So at least we have Flavells in the vicinity, just a matter of working out how one claimed to be daughter of Jane.
