I had overlooked Kate marrying Hancox as she is not referred to as Kate E anywhere else.

I also had both of Alice's boys as dying during the war.

There was a possibility that Kate travelled to America and I found a Kate Barrett with the same DOB on a ships list in 1910.

Have you got the birth cert for Kate ?

I have requested a look up for the marriage between Kate and Herbert.

All other children that are listed as Benjamin and Marys have mothers maiden name as Crumpton.

John L Stafford could have died during the war as his wife remarried in 1948, i haven't found anything on Albert

I don't have any paperwork at all.

The main initial interest in Kate & Alice was to see if they provided the America link by marrying a Powell.This was heightened when they 'disappeared' after the census.
