It would be very interesting to see that birth certif for either Eliza Portman or Albert portman..no mother on which makes me
wonder if she puts Portman or Baylis on that....

I had far more pieces of evidence that supported Amelia's parents being Thomas & Sarah Portman than those supporting James & Mary Ann Portman and on top of that the different dates of birth for Amelia were confusing me. However, at that time, I was unaware of the birth certificate information on BCC. So, now I am reassessing what I have.
