Yes, this John is my direct ancestor (probably!) The reason why I say probably, is because I am descended from Zachariah Allchurch, the illegitimate son of Priscilla Brookes who married John Allchurch. I believe that John was probably the genetic father of Zachariah for the following reasons:

Zachary Brookes is baptised on 1st November 1796 at Oldswinford, the base son of Priscilla Brooks
Priscilla Brooks marries John Allchurch at Dudley on 6th November 1796
John & Priscilla’s daughter, Sebra, is baptised on 27th May 1828 at Oldswinford
Zachariah Allchurch marries Elizabeth Randle on 19th March 1826 at Dudley. One of the witnesses is Sebra Allchurch.
Zebra Allchurch marries Joseph Worral on 21st December 1828 at Dudley. The witnesses are Zachariah & Elizabeth Allchurch
Priscilla’s death in 1861 and Zachariah’s death in 1868 are both registered by an Elizabeth Allchurch of Lower Lye
Zachariah’s age at death was 71, suggesting a birth year of 1796 or 1797; I have been unable to find a baptism of Zachariah Allchurch around this time and have not found any references to Zachary Brookes after his baptism in 1796
Zachariah and Elizabeth's first 3 children were named John, Priscilla and Sebra - if my theory is correct, they are named after his father, mother and sister

Thomas Allchurch, baptised in 1825, who married Anne Jones at Clent was the son of Elijah Allchurch and Mary nee Aston - Elijah was the brother of Thomas (1787-1844) above. Thomas and Elijah were the sons of of John Allchurch and Ann nee Simkis. I'm also descended from John and Ann through their eldest son, John.
