which I think makes sense ....she is with her mother on the census but not with John ...wonder if JOhn was put down just as a name for

Have another problem.
Just got marriage cert for Sarah Jane Hatton and James Guest.
Marriage details Married 1 April 1889 St Luke Cradley Heath
Sarah Jane Hatton age 20 spinster living St Luke Father William Hatton Occ. Pipe maker
James Guest age 21 Bachelor Occ. Fitter Living Cradley Father Benjamin Guset Boat Loader.
Witness Harry Whitmore Hackett/Emily Edge

Could this be Ann Hattons daughter can't find her on census before marriage apart from 81 when she is with her mother who is unmarried.

Also on connections Zachariah Willetts born abt 1824 Cradley the Matilda he married was a widow her maiden name was Skelding they married 9 Nov 1872 Holy Trinity Amblecote Witness Alfred Green and Martha Maybury. Matildas previous marriage was to James Richards 1854 St Thomas Dudley her father was James Skelding born abt 1789 Stourbridge and i think he married Hannah Dudley born abt 1795 they married 4 Nov 1816 St Johns Halesowen witness were Hezekiah Willitts and Maria Dudley.

There is a big gap between Emily Hatton (edge on cert) and Sarah and William

be interesting to see what William Hatton puts on marriage cert.

Just thinking might be an idea to disconnect those 2 from John edge until proven if he is the father or not.

Im getting confussed with them do what you want. Found a possible marriage for William but need a lookup will post on look up board

I think that Sarah looks very good for the dau of Ann hatton esp with emily edge being the witness.

were there a few sarah Jane hattons born that year?

think we just need to check that those kids are registered as hatton and not an edge

so lets check the regis names
find a marriage for William
then I am all for adding that marriage for Sarah with james guest with notes
