I have looked again at Nathan's autobiography (which concentrates mainly on his time in America and the various jobs he had) - the only mention of parents are that he was born in a 4 room cottage between Stoke Prior Church and Lower Bentley, his mother was poor at the time he was working and as previously mentioned he had problems with his stepfather. He left home to work in 1843 when he was twelve so the second marriage information for Ann looks right.
