The marriage look up for John russ and Sarah may say father John Russ
is Robert who married Maria Priest from glouces?
Just wondering how we can be sure even if name is John on marriage and a labourer that it is the same father to both?

John Russ Jnr Married Sarah Poole 1846, cannot find him on the 1841? Robert Russ 1830 does not Marry Maria Priest until 1853, dead by 1858, so not on Census with her I do think it is the right family though. Linell.

I suppose Maria could have lied? Perhaps Mary Ann was told Robert was her father, same as her siblings

It could be any of one of these 1861 census was done on 7th April.

Can't find John Russ born about 1825 in 1841, here is the rest of the family in (Warmley) Siston:-

John Russ Haulier 55 All say Yes born in County where as we know they weren't from the 1851 Census.

The 1851 in Peartree Street is them Jimmy. Not sure about the 1881, looks as though it could be John with a new wife? Not got that far with them. Many thanks Linell.
