Yes I am fortunate I have a good MP who does his job well.
I did think of going to Citizens Advice Bureau but saw no point in doing so, they would not have held any influence over Reed Global and would have only told me what I already knew. I am mulling over the thought that I could ask them for legal advice about suing Reed Global for loss of earnings if my start is delayed.

Check your home insurance or any insurance as they may offer legal aid on that they
do on my home insurance.
might help.
Or some solicitors offer a free advice half hour.

Time for an update.
After informing Reed Global that I had informed my MP, who in turn sent it to the HOme Office, I recieved a reply a few days later where I was told that they have just refered the issue to the Home Office as well, strange that! Well not really, its called coverings ones... erm backside.
Anyway my fame has grown through the management echelons, it is quite a topic of discussion apparently. I will turn that into a positive, all publicity is good and if I am known, even if it is just by name, then of course that is an advantage for future career.
The situation stands that if I do not hear anything from Home Office AND Reed Global act upon the information, then my start date will be put back. A passport will automatically satisfy the critera, but of course that can take 6 weeks. My advisor at Job Centre has managed to obtain funding to pay for the passport, so at least I am getting a free passport out of this mess.
It could mean that my start date will now be in March, but they will be different shift patterns to what I initially signed up for.
So a few more days to go, watch this space as they say.

WOOO HOOO!
Home office Says YES!
Well lets be honest I knew they would, but yes they have now got back, vetting team have also been notified, so tommorow will be a mad scrabbling between the vetting team and my new employers to get paperwork sorted for my start this week...
Baddy hell, this not happening is it?
The reality is now sinking in, no more sleeping in, getting up when I like, no more 10 hours searching on Ancestry or Findmypast, I have to work :S
Well it will be a nice new adventure anyway, just think of the money Andrew, think of the money! Then I can finally afford to travel on my days off and visit place for reasearch. Yay.
Oh my. stop waffling now.

Hi Ho Hi HO its off to work I go....
Official conformation from xxx this morning paperwork finally put through and I can start tommorow! 6 weeks of training over 5 days a week, start 12 until 8pm.
However, it might be a shorter day due to only 3 of us starting. Yep thats right only 3 of us. I assume it will be the 2 young ladies who were with me on the assessment day. That day was disappointing for the recruitment team, apparently about 20 people were supposed to turn up, they did not say, but when we were taken to our room, there were about 20 places laid out with blank name markers , pens pads and the assesment packs. These were quickly picked up when we asked we were given short shrift reply.
Anyway It will be great to get working again, opposed to voluntary work, and this time being paid a good wage for it!
