They had 2 children, that I know of; Herbert Thomas, who was born 1872, and Clarinda (I think!), who was born c1876.

I have Herbert Thomas Beard's (son of Joseph & Jane) original birth certificate, which states mother as "Jane Beard, formerly Richards/Rickards (difficult to tell which it is because ink may have blobbed on writing & made the 'h' look like might be a 'k'). The cert is very old & has been folded & sellotaped over the years!)
Father is Joseph beard occ Cordwainer
I suppose marriage cert for Joseph & Jane would give me more?
