We have had rotten weather this summer. Rain and more rain. And now the first real autumn depression is en route. Meanwhile, my husband has been on the opposite side of the country and keeps posting about sunshine and blueberry-picking. Just not fair!
Well you will live in Iceland!

Do you ever get snow?

One thing not mentioned about 1976, and how could anyone old enough to remember forget about the swarms of ladybirds, billions of them everywhere, red carpets going crunch underfoot!

Sometimes. At the start of the week the weather bureau gave out a snow storm warning and the farmers in the north rushed round herding-up sheep from the mountains. As the week went on the forecast shifted the storm so now it seems we will get it as rain in the west. Last year a similar storm got little press and hundreds of sheep died. Poor weather people can't get it right!
I don't recall the 1976 ladybird problem, couldn't have been in the East Midlands.

1976 was the year we cancelled our barge holiday as some of the canals had to be closed - oooh was that a hot hot summer.

Just heard on the tv, that Brown leaves this early are due to lack of water and the trees going into survival mode!
