I am overwhelmed by the response so far, I had never anticipated anything like this!

I just lost a reply about the davies family, bascially saying that the davies side is much better known to us, thanks to the research carried out by a Davies relative .... The links do indeed go back to Eli Davies...

I need to break off now, unfortunately, as my mother is here with us (on a day-break from post-hospital care) and my youngest daughter is visiting from France, her 30th birthday today. I will return to the forum asap, can't bear to tear myself away, but the living relatives deserve some time too!

I have only just seen your post about the Ashmore family, my mother is a daughter of Annie May Ashmore she knew of Nellie and that she died young but nothing more it seems her mother didn't talk about Nellie.
