No Oxford Marriages Free reg not allowed to transcribe Oxford Parish records --from site- There are no entries for Oxfordshire as we have been refused permission to transcribe the parish registers Best RF :!:

Re this question:
What about the Edwin E Mansell aged 14 in 1841, listed below Sarah in the census; born Cradley according to 1851 census,
Is that her son or step-son?
I never found any children for Sarah.
I thought this a nephew but could be step-son.
Interesting stuff.
In her fathers will regarding the house and only in regard to Sarah not other children, it further states after giving the house "... but nevertheless not subject to the contorl of any present or any future husband." Sound like father did not approve!
Further says "... if my said daughter should die leaving no child or children or they all die then the property returns to executors (John and Joseph) as tennants in common." I have converted to simple english.
I never picked up the possibility of earlier marriage.
This family is a great story, as I 'm sure lots more are. I love all the links to other families.
Its gets more interesting when I go back a couple of generations but harder to prove.
Thanks for you help.
Anne
