Well for years i've been looking for George Henry Williamson, i've found him on the census from 1871-1901, on all his children's birth/deaths/marriage certs plus his own marriage cert he is George Henry, now his wife Caroline's death cert refers to him as Thomas Richard Williamson, information given by E.A.Reed (son-in-law), i've always thourght that it was a typo error so thourght nothing of it.

So i was chatting to NL and we was discussing what info i have (because i could not find a birth or death cert for him, even tho i have seen his grave stone and have his grave ref no) so we decided to try and see if the register office in Pontefract would have a death for this Thomas Richard (name given on wife's death cert) and they did, the exact date of death that was on his grave and the fact that his daughter Gladys Reed (williamson) was the informant of his death concludes that George Henry is in fact Thomas Richards, so NL and myself did a search for a birth in West Bromwich and a Thomas Richard B: 1854 came up..i recieved the cert this morning and it confirms that the 2 above names are the same person, father Edward Williamson, mother Jane Mansell.

Why the name change i don't have a clue maybe they decided they did not like his birth name :) but unless i find a reliable necromancer to talk to him i guess i will never know :)
With this being confirmed now i feel like i have won the lottery :) but i also want to thank everyone on these forums for the help they have given, and to say this site is the best, without it i dont think i would have concided searching for name given on the death cert. Big thanks to NL for listening to me too xx

So now i have a note that Edwards father is also called Edward and his mother was Hannah Parks, the research goes on :)

Hi Di

Just flagging this now to see if we can move to the Black Country archived section?
This is basically just another board...but acts as a storage unit.
We run a fast board on this one, ie quickish turn around and then bring back any from the BC Archived section that has more info found, needs more work on etc etc

So unless otherwise advised this topic will be moved to archived section within 24 hrs
