This marriage of Thomas and Sophia in 1821 is puzzling, where they are both mentioned as widowed, indicating previous spouses
of which there are no trace.
There were 5 children born before this date - William, Samuel, Thomas, Mary Ann and Phoebe (as well as 6 after the marriage).
However on the FamilySearch site the parents of these earlier children are shown as Thomas and Sophia ?
Was Thomas's first wife also called Sophia (bit of a coincidence)? Or has there been some error ?
It's also a mystery that there is no obvious record of Thomas siblings (other than Mary) when most of the Parsons families at that time ran into double figures!
