I have seen this one on freeBMD, and WestMidsBMD, but it seems a little too late for some reason, and it's a Sedgley record i think... but i guess she could have registered him late, as it was'nt the law? If i send for the cert it's gonna cost me a tenner lol. Shall i take the gamble? haha
well if it not him youve ruled it out ?

Could ask them you may think its the certificate you need and if Mother is Susannah/Hannah before you buy to save you wasting your money?

Would Dudley Registrar let me do this? I did'nt think you could just phone in and ask? You are right Pete, i might just have to go for it.

If its who Peter showed on BCC
May be ask for a look up see if there is a father named on marriage?

Good call. As his mother has listed herself as widow on earlier census's, i can imagine he has been told his father was unknown or deceased, but it is definately worth a shot, thank you! i didnt think of this avenue.

Not Quite true it was supposed to be law- every one thought it was a legal requirement but not enforced tightly with new rules in 1875

Jo are you able to go thru this and add anything to Bcc?
We can add Richards username too as we have been doing for him on others.
Not gone thru thread but looks like lots of info that could go on.
