Notes about Sophia from Ancestry tree:
"From notes left by her grandaughter Ella Smith:- Sophia was of possible descent from French Huguenots. Jet black eyes and hair and very quick tempered. Possibly had lived for some time in Cambridgeshire. (See 1871 Census) Possibly worked for some time as dressmaker for the Countess of Dudley. Married first husband Jack Jones, Welsh had fair hair very musical played organ and sang. Possibly was engineer in USA. Had three children Ada b 1883, Lily Beatrice b.1884 and Fred b.1892 (Fred was born in America). Moved with husband Jack Jones to USA lived in Pennsylvania approx. 1886. Jack Jones died in USA and Sophia moved back to England in approx. 1894. Married second husband Jack Millichip in 1902 and returned to USA lived in New York. Had another child with Jack Millichip Bertie who died as baby. Returned again back to England in 1926 when her second husband died in New York, returned just for a visit to daughter Ada's home but never went back. Settled in Brierley Hill. Died November 1933 or 4 and was buried in Brierley Hill. C of E very strict. Of children Ada married a John Stokes and ran a Public House "Bottle & Glass" in Brierley Hill, Ada had daughter called Clara Sophia who in turn married and had 3 children Maralyn Frederick and one other name not known.Fred may have gone back to America with his mother as he certainly lived and worked for most of his life in America and did not return to England when his mother came back in 1926."
