I do not care very much where the Battle took place, only where a king should be buried. I really think you have lost the plot , I know it is Leicestershire ,and i have been to Bosworth , have you? Now leave me alone .

Margarett wrote:Very interesting programme. But don't forget, Richard was a Catholic, so would York Minster or Westminster Abbey be considered a suitable resting place for him now?
Don't forget that York Minster and Westminster Abbey to name but two, were catholic cathedrals when they were built. If he'd been buried in a manner fitting a king when he died, then he would have been buried in a cathedral that is now C of E.

Dt......Sorry if you are taking offence......yes I have been to Bosworth all my fathers family are from Leicestershire since 16th century
they then moved to Halesowen.......don't take it hard its only a friendly Forum, but you can upset people by not getting facts correct.
It works both ways.

Yes Mike you are exactly right, it is a
very friendly forum, but occasionally your aggressive attitude comes out and doesn't help

There are nicer ways of stating your opinion, don't you think?

"Why, love forswore me in my mother's womb:
And, for I should not deal in her soft laws,
She did corrupt frail nature with some bribe,
To shrink mine arm up like a wither'd shrub;
To heap an envious car park on my back,"

Thank you all for your support. I hear on the lunchtime news that York minster have asked the Queen for the remains of Richard ,because and I

Quote "he was a northern King and his son is Buried here" I hope very much that the Queen allows it.

Actually DT,to be serious for a second, like most "Kings and Queens " their elegibilty is quite often in doubt.Check Richard's genealogy and ask yourself what happened to the Princes' in The Tower?

It must have been amazing to be contacted by a genealogist and told that you're related to royalty!
Surely the living relatives should also have a say in where Richard is buried! I like the York idea personally.

Yes, they were Catholic places then, Snoopysue, but my point is that they aren't now. I wonder how a catholic would feel if they were told they had to be laid to rest in a protestant cathedral?
