I would love to know where he went in the U.S.A.
Thanks for any help you can find.
Where were they in 1901, can you post the census details.

I had a look this morning, but I couldn't see any with the occupation blacksmith, so it looks like he might have sailed fron Ireland, I will have another look.

Hi Jo.
Yes that's them, I can only think Thomas was the one to go to the U S as he was single and he is not on the 1911,
the 1911 has John as 47, where as he was 40 on the 1901...???
There are a couple of brothers on the 1911 John Joseph 30 and Thomas 28, but I don't think this is the brother I am after.
thanks Jo......

Thanks Jo.... No 9 Lower Baggot was my G/fathers shop so it looks as if Laurence Purcell is the manager and Thomas Smyth
is a boarder there..???? Thanks for finding that.....I have to say I found that census record ages ago, but had forgotten about the Smyth guy....he still could have gone to the states thou, do you think ??? ...if not I am on to the wrong brother...
it was definitely a Smyth as the Heir Hunter person told me the person who died was the daughter of my g/mothers brother, had no children and was a first cousin to my father and siblings. I wonder if he changed his name and became Thomas Smith, easier than correcting the spelling, as some of the records have the two spellings, would that help at all ??? as a family we have always knew it was Smyth.
He had all my fathers family and dates they died so was just checking to make sure all was right.
Thanks for having a look for me..
