I am jack Hughes and my link is as follows

grandfather William Samuel Hughes 1884.
grt g/f Alexander Hughes 1853.
2x grt g/f Samuel Hughes 1828.
3x grt g/f Alexander Hughes 1785 and hopefully,
4x grt g/f Thomas Hughes 1761.

I have no certificates after 1853 but have copy of census 1841.
I believe Alexander died 5 nov 1848 but have nothing to confirm this.
in the early 1840 John Hughes gen labourer lived with his family next door to his older brother Joseph who was said to be a furnaceman.

sure you can call me LL (have been called alot worse.

the only record I have is IGI individual record giving names and date of marriage in 1822 with scource of information as,
batch no MO10661 1636-1812 scource call no 1426213 lT 1-2 type film printout call no 0883947.

how do you go about obtaining copies of records prior to 1837 seems to be a number of archive centres and then being able to identify the right one,
hope to eventually visit the area again but what is the most economical way of obtaining records ?.

I note one of your family interests is " Round " and although you may already be aware, the licensees of the Trust To Providence on washington street were-
1864-1883 John Hughes b1817
1883-1886 Joseph Breakwell
1886-1900 Benjamin Round and after he diedhis wife took over.
1900-1904 Elizabeth Round.
also aware members of the Dunn's family lived next door to John on washington street.

as a side issue to this thread it would appear BCC numbers for Hughes 38,244 and 246 are connected.
John and Ann are shown to have 6 children there is a possible 7th James c1839.

their daughter born 5 oct 1840 would appear to have variations to her name.Ann m ,Anna Maria,Hannah Maria, but as you show on the 1851 census
it was Anna Maria age 10.
Anna,as recorded married Richard Dunn c1838, and they had 8 children as BCC.
Richards parents were apparently Richard Dunn c 1813 and Elizabeth Taylor c1816.

thank you all for your responses
LL

further info, Alexander Hughes 1875 and Mary Symkiss son,
John Hughes 1817 and Ann Bury 1819 had amongst their 8 children,
Isaac Thomas Hughes 1849 (Thomas on 1851 census age 1) married Ellanor Ann Hughes c1852,they had 7 children,
John c 1870
Thomas c 1872
Ann c 1874
Lavinia c 1879
Alfred c 1882
Gertrude c 1890
Annie c 1892

Ellanor was the daughter of Samuel Hughes 1828 and Clara Ann Barnsley
census 1911 age 59 29 milroy street edgehill liverpool with Isaac and 2 children.

Samuel Hughes 1828 who was the son of Alexander Hughes 1785 and his 2nd wife Hannah Maria Griffin
had dtr Elenor c 1852 ( BCC Eleanor)
census 1861 with family,Darby & Pargetters colliery
not on census 1871 with family.

does that make Elenor married her half cousin Isaac Thomas ?.

the things you find.

1st query,
the entry no on BCC keep changing,at this minute under Hughes
no 40 Anna M c 1841 with parents John 1816 and Ann 1819
no 249 John 1815
no 251 John 1816

these are all the same people.

2nd query.
I have seem this before on BCC but cannot relate to the childrens names, may be a cross over between others family trees.
my first query with you was concerning Thomas Hughes c 1761 and Ann Pearson c 1761 kingswinford, married 1781 when I listed their 11 children, including Alexander 1785.
and my hope of confirming this to be correct before checking info back to 1620.I have not given this info todate so thatit doesnot confuse the issue.
