picture look too big on the forum mark ok on the mobile all you can see is the brim of your hat on the forum any one else the same ?

This lady and her five grandchildren spent three hours under a jetty to escape the fires in Tasmania.

From the time they saw the flames to her house and two neighbours houses exploding in flames was less than two minutes.

What happens is that the Eucalyptus Trees produce a very flammable oil.

On very hot days this oil vaporises and creates and explosive gas at the top of the trees.

So the fire just leaps from one pocket of gaseous fuel to the next at over 100KMH.

Its called crowning and when it happens the fire is unstoppable.

But then, today's maximum in Melbourne was 23.9 and the forecast top for tomorrow is 20.
Just love the variety of Melbourne's weather!
