If I were you I would dble check that marriage in 1864 that father is a Samuel... I could look it up but it isnt coming out on a search of churches

so you would have to send for the certif.....but if it is Samuel then this is the marriage to Ann and it could be looked up and would hopefully get you back a generation

I dont think it is that William and Fiddian family with Samuel.

Not sure that Samuel had a Thomas Mole.

Wondering if the birth cert would be better...this might be it

1838
MOLE Thomas Stourbridge Dudley Register Office STO/002/142

need that fathers name to be sure before going further back

I think that Ann as the mother b 1794 ie Ann Willetts is not correct
think it is more likely that Ann Bird

On the 1861 census Ann is there as head age 49

1861 census
Blackheath RR
Ann Mole widow head 49 nail maker b RR
Thomas Mole son un 21 nail maker b RR
John Mole son un 18 b RR
Samuel Mole son un 13 b RR
Joseph Mole son un 10 b RR

Ok rethink...got them on the 1851 and it is the Samuel here

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =912018702

BUT!!

I dont think it is the same Ann... I think it might be a second marriage with a wife named the same as the first

This Ann is b abt 1812 and on the other marriage they married in 1814!
The Ann Willetts must have died and he marries an Ann bird
the marriage should say widower....

1851 census
Blackheath RR
Samuel Mole h 56 mar nailer b RR
Ann Mole wife 40 b RR
Paarai son 24 b RR
Keterah dau 20
Thomas son 11
John 8
Samuel 3
Joseph 3mths

Births Sep 1839
Mole Thomas Dudley 18 236

Hi,

Many thanks for all your input and help. I've been given lots of information to work on.

I will splash out and order Thomas Mole's birth and Samuel and Ann's marriage certificates to check the information and I will get back to you. I've looked at the information you've kindly given and I think you're spot on that Samuel remarried. I noticed checking on the 1851 census Ann is 16 years younger than Samuel.

Once again many thanks
Adrian

Hi adrian
I can look up the marriage cert but it may be a few weeks- the archives have the same info as you will get from a certif.
so up to you on that if you need it sooner
the birth cert I cant do that has to be from the regis office
I suggest you say you only want it if the father is a Samuel...

But....
did you have the marriage info for Thomas mole?
Cos think if it was me I would just double check that father for Thomas is a Samuel first by ordering that marriage for Thomas and Ellen...I couldnt see the church for that one it is here....
Marriages Sep 1864
Lowe Ellen Stourbridge 6c 256 Mole Thomas Stourbridge 6c 256
if I could find the church I can look that one up too!

See just thinking if it is a 2nd marriage what is to say mother Ann didnt have Thomas by another guy and just called him Mole when she married Samuel?
If it is father Samuel on that marriage then I would order the birth certif...to dble check mother and then I can look up that Samuel and Ann bird marriage for you in the meantime.

Ok Adrian going to move this to archvied now and add that look up to the Sandwell list

1838
MOLE Samuel BIRD Ann Tipton, St Martin (Pepper Box) Sandwell Register Office 39/1/173

we can see if Samuel is a Widower but you do really need Thomas birth to see if mother is Ann Bird

will bring back topic with info

So unless otherwise advised this topic will be moved to archived section pend look up

Have done the look up for the marriage of a Samuel Mole and Ann Bird.
I dont think it is the same one as this one on connections here....
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections

Father on marriage is a John not a William for Samuel
and Samuel on the 1838 marriage to Ann Bird is a bach not a widower

so just letting you know and if no more use will re archive
