I have received the marriages of Mary Ann Staventon Darby to William Hughes, as you have already obtained it ,I will confirm you have the correct one. I have also the Marriage of his son Jacob Hughes to Florence Mary Spiers .

9 April 1901

Jacob Hughes 25 Bachelor, Edge tool maker, father: William Hughes Slotter.

Florence Mary Spiers 18 Spinster, Father: William Spiers Clerk.

Married in West Bromwich Register Office

Witness William Sainbrookes and Sarah Jane Sainbrookes .

Hi Pete, I wondered if you could help with Sarah Jane Hughes 1868. Jacobs sister. She is not on the 1881census with Mary Ann, and i have always presumed that she had died ,but have not found death year on Ancestry. Since you have found what could be Mary Jane's Wedding info. I would value your opinion. :-) Dt

I have just looked on the census for Joseph Thomson, in my opinion it is not very clear what the surname is.It could quite easily be read as Steventon. Dt
