I have notes on this Hadley family.

Herbert's parents are Elizabeth Hadley with the alleged father being William Eades.

Herbert was born 25th June 1841in Tipton.

Died 25th February 1899 in Saltney, Cheshire.

He can be found there in the 1891 Census when it was still part of Wales.

Willliam Eades did marry Elizabeth Hadley on the 25 Dec 1850 in Dudley but that was nine years after Herbert's birth so I doubt William is the father...

Elizabeth was baptised on the 24th March 1811 at St Thomas, Dudley.

Her parents are Sarah Fisher and James Hadley.

You already have Sarah and James and Elizabeth on BCC with a question on Elizabeth's age.

She told a porky at the wedding.

James Hadley married Sarah Fisher on the 25th October 1806 in Tipton.

Some new transcriptions and original pages for the Worcester and Tipton parishes have just been published (about three hours ago) so I will check my notes against those before listing the children of James and Sarah. A few might already be on BCC as they bred like rabbits.

Good morning all, the post I sent yesterday about Herbert I made a slight mistake,on the death certificate it should have read,witness at the death James Ralph Hadley,
SON not Brother, but although this is correct, they have given his age as 56, when it should be about 58, as his birth certificate shows he was born in 1841.

Phoebe Bate, 21, Spinster, Dudley, Abraham Bate Inn Keeper. Marriage 12th March.1866.
Registration District, Dudley, the parish church Dudley,County of Worcester, Witnesses, Mary Ann Hughes, and William H. Hughes, I think that Mary Ann was her sister.
I have also got a faded printout of Mary's baptism,Registered birth 4th Oct 1836, baptised, 20th April 1837,Mary Ann Daughter of Abraham, and Mary Bate Newport
Monmouthshire,Abraham's occupation,Iron Moulder.
