Does this help?
The following question was raised on here...

https://familysearch.org/learn/forums/e ... php?t=4846

I've recently started using the new Family Search Beta and found quite a lot of information (mostly christenings) that I hadn't found before. In some cases I've found (near) duplicate records for the same event, but with different codes for "System Origin", for example England-EASy, England-VR, England-ODM on one serch I've undertaken today.
Can someone explain the significance of these, or point me to where I can find the information?

Also, on the original Family Search on IGI, I used to get a mixture of entries, some "extracted" and some "member submitted". I've always differentiated these when recording them as sources as the later have a reputation for being less reliable. Does the new Beta search include member submitted entries, or are they all transcripts from original records, or whatever? In other words what assumption can I make about the reliability of them?

The reply....

Basically the "legacy" collections are the previous LDS programmes of extraction and Vital record collections - these were not done to the current standards of the current Indexing programme - see https://giveback.familysearch.org/indexing

You will note that the Historical Records contain other "Collections" that arise directly from the new Indexing programme.

The legacy collections only contain extracted data - or a sub-set of the extracted data; they do not contain any LDS member submitted data.

It is a stated intention of familysearch that these legacy collections will be digitised and re-indexed as part of the new Indexing programme.
