That's beside the point whose car it was.The point is,and i've phoned the Town Hall,it's true!! Every town and council in Holland have their own laws and it seems our district have prohibited by law the right to wash a car in public! Offically that is, the probability that you would be fined is minimal.
Still a cheek though and they can think again if they expect me to pay for a Car Wash.I'll clean it in the dead of night if need be.
And anyway it was my daughters car so she would have had to pay the the fine!!

Oh and don't think i didn't read what you put NL!!

A copper who lives over the road came over to me and told me it was prohibited to wash one's car in public placesI
I was warned that next time i would be fined! Can you believe it? Unbelievable or not?
It's bad for the milieu and as of last month prohibited you either have to use a car wash or let your car get dirty.
What on earth are we doing?

if it was on your drive how is it a public place ?

Did you answer this question Rob, is so I apologise, as I must have missed it. Surely a Public Place means on the road, which does seem more understandable. A driveway is not a Public Place, so the neighbour appears to be misinterpreting the law. Unless in Holland, all property is theft, in which case, move over, I'm taking your house.
