But looking at the following, I'm not sure cos both William and Bernard married a Mary and McDermott looks to be her maiden name too

is mary a widow in 1871 as this could be her husband ?

william died 23/7/1866 age 46

could do with finding the 1861 census for william or mary above ?

According to this her daughters name is McDerment.

I wonder if William Salmon married a Mary Mcdermott (register office - perhaps a widow ) and maybe she had a dau Mary Mcdermott who married Williams brother Bernard?

....or something like that
