I think these are 2 different Samuels...

this Samuel, this date fits with the 2 census found (earlier this post)

Possibly this Joseph is the illegimate son of Mary ann Barnsley, I will add this lot to BCC pending marriage lookup..

Sorry NL this marriage is not on my disc :?: :?: I checked for both surnames, nothing for either in 1817. I double checked the IGI entry and it looks a - ok, suppose it has been missed when the Register was transcribed, sorry another look up for you :( linell.
